St. James Missouri
St. James is a small town located in Phelps County Missouri. This area is located off of I-44 and has access to Highway 68 and Highway 8. The estimated population in July 2006 was 4,057. The median household income in 2005 was $26,100. St. James is a small close nit community where everyone knows each other by name. The town is famously known for the vineyards and wine.
There are several attractions in the St. James. The national park Meramec Springs is located in St. James, MO. This park is famous for trout fishing, sightseeing, trails, and cookouts. The St. James Park is also a common area for citizens to enjoy swimming, fishing, and other recreational activities. The Nelson Hart Park is home to the local Grape and Fall Festival, summer sports, and the Recreational Center. The town’s newest attraction is its city wide bike and walking trail. The trail starts in Nelson Hart Park goes through the town and ends up on a backwoods trail that will eventually go all the way down to Meramec Springs.
